As a Senior Structural (Bridge) Engineer/Project Manager, you’ll be a key technical leader within our Ohio transportation team, guiding the design and delivery of complex bridge and structural components for transportation infrastructure projects across local, state, regional, and national levels. This role blends deep technical expertise with project and task management responsibilities, offering you the opportunity to shape solutions that matter.
When you join us, you’ll be responsible for:
Lead Technical Delivery
• Serve as a senior technical resource on bridge design projects, overseeing structural analysis, design development, and QA/QC processes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions aligned with client goals and regulatory standards.
Project & Task Management
• Manage tasks and/or entire projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support project managers in client communications, risk management, and milestone tracking.
Client Engagement & Business Development
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Ohio DOT and local agencies.
• Contribute to proposal development, interviews, and strategic pursuits.
• Represent Jacobs in professional societies and industry events to enhance visibility and thought leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Previous professional bridge engineering experience
• PE license in Ohio
• Strong understanding of DOT standards, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency in bridge design software (e.g., LEAP Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, LARSA 4D, MIDAS Civil, MDX).
• Experience with CADD tools (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Designer).
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience leading bridge design tasks or projects.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Existing relationships with Ohio DOT and local municipalities.
• Active involvement in professional engineering societies.
• Design-build project experience.
