Entry-Level Civil Engineers - Networking Event with AECOM Philadelphia
AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn about career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026 and to connect with AECOM staff across our business lines.
The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, followed by interviews on Friday at our Philadelphia office. AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer - Remediation for our offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, or Virginia. The role involves 60% field and 40% office work and supports investigation engineering, design, and construction management of environmental remediation projects. Field work includes site inspections and sampling, contractor oversight, and construction administration. Design work may include sampling plans, excavation and restoration design, environmental permitting, erosion and sediment control design, construction plans, cost estimates, and constructability reviews. The position is expected to begin Spring/Summer 2026.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, applying standard techniques and criteria.
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Works with the design team to create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and final drawings under supervision.
- Collects and analyzes data under supervision.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Works within agreed budget and schedule under supervision.
- Assists the Project Management team with administration on small to moderate size projects, following set guidelines.
- Attends meetings and reports on project tasks as needed.
- Performs field work (approximately 60%).
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
- Valid US Driver's License required; candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous civil engineering field work and study experience.
- Experience in construction or remediation projects preferred.
- EIT, EI or ability to obtain prior to starting the position.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Project preferred.
Additional Information
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Hybrid work schedule; in-office work in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, or Virginia; scheduled availability in those locations.
Offered compensation will be based on location and qualifications. The expected range is $68,000.00 - $85,000.00.
