Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Assembly Technician will leverage their light technical mechanical abilities and strong attention to detail to assemble and inspect medical device products. This role is situated in a start-up environment, requiring adaptability and flexibility to different processes and tasks, along with the ability to provide input and feedback. As a member of a new and growing team, consisting of 5-6 individuals, you will be one of the first members of the manufacturing team. The position initially involves repetitive tasks but offers the potential for varied responsibilities as the start-up evolves.

Responsibilities

Use basic tools such as drill press, arbor press, and finishing tools to perform final assembly of the product.

Assemble or glue small pieces of the device together and perform visual inspections.

Conduct final basic inspections using micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and digital microscopes.

Attend daily or weekly team meetings to provide updates, feedback, or ideas.

Essential Skills

Light mechanical aptitude with experience using basic hand tools.

Experience performing visual or mechanical inspection of parts or products.

High attention to detail.

Good manual dexterity with hands.

Strong communication skills for providing updates or feedback in a team setting.

Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in medical device or cleanroom manufacturing.

Experience working in a start-up company.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled medical device manufacturing setting with a flexible schedule. Core hours are 10 am to 4 pm, ensuring team collaboration, while allowing flexibility in start times to suit personal preferences.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
