HOT JOB IN DALLAS, TX!! Transportation Specialist $22/hr, contract to hire. The Transportation Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods or materials across various transportation methods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while adhering to industry regulations, including tasks like scheduling inbound shipments for all facilities dealing with a variety of vendors. This includes receiving packing lists and BOLs, selecting carriers, tracking deliveries, and resolving transportation issues. Responsibilities
Create transportation schedules, selecting appropriate carriers based on cost, delivery time, and route requirements. Arrange pick-up and delivery times, coordinating with warehouses and customers regarding shipment details including packing lists and BOLs. Coordinate final delivery to customers in urban areas. Monitor shipment progress through various transportation modes (truck, air, rail, sea) using tracking systems. Prepare and process shipping documents like bills of lading, customs paperwork, and invoices. Ensure adherence to all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards. Identify and resolve transportation issues such as delays, damaged goods, or delivery discrepancies. Communicate with customers regarding shipment status and addressing any concerns. Coordinate with vendors and carriers to receive packing lists and BOLs to set up deliver appointments (drop-ships and at Netceed warehouses). Requirements / Key Experiences
2 years of Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain experience; experience arranging transportation for large shipments across multiple modes. Understanding of transportation modes, shipping procedures, and supply chain management principles. Drop-ship experience required. Familiarity with transportation management systems and related software; SAGE experience preferred. Experience analyzing data from transportation management systems to make informed decisions. Effective communication with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities. Self-starter with excellent time-management skills. Position Requirements
3-5 years of previous experience as a Transportation Analyst or similar role. ERP skills; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); WMS skills. Problem-solver, assertiveness, multi-tasking, organization and attention to detail. Full knowledge of Freight All Kinds ratings and how they apply to discounts for U.S. domestic transportation. Advanced Excel skills (Macros, Formulas, Pivot Tables). Routing freight experience strongly desired. Logistics sector experience; Supply Chain/Telecommunications experience; Oracle/SAGE; Rate Negotiation; Custom Reporting skills.
