Job Title: Iron Worker
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Iron Worker to join our team in building industrial facilities, structures, and warehouses. The role involves using structural steel and iron for framing and erecting, fitting and assembling structural frameworks with hand tools and welding equipment, and following blueprint specifications. Comfort with working around cranes, including using chokers, crane signals, and rigging, is essential. The position requires tack welding parts and welding structural steel onsite, and the ability to read project layouts and blueprints.
Responsibilities
Build industrial facilities, structures, and warehouses using structural steel and iron.
Fit and assemble structural frameworks using hand tools and welding equipment.
Follow blueprint specifications for construction projects.
Work around cranes, including using chokers, crane signals, and rigging.
Perform tack welding of parts and weld structural steel onsite.
Read and interpret project layouts and blueprints accurately.
Essential Skills
Experience in metal framing, carpentry, and as an iron worker.
Proficiency in metal stud framing and iron/steel erection.
Experience in industrial or commercial carpentry.
Proficiency in welding, particularly tack welding of structural steel.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Possession of OSHA 10 certification.
Familiarity with framing, sheet metal work, sheet metal cutting, structural steel, steel erection, and iron work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with tools such as Bull Pin, Erection Wrench, Snap Hook, Saws/cutting wheels, Hammer, Chalk line, Triangle, etc.
Experience as an iron worker or millwright.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Experience in rigging.

Work Environment
Work takes place on industrial construction sites. The position involves working the first shift from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with 10-hour shifts and possible overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.
