The Client The client is a market leading alternative asset manager focused on multi-asset discretionary and systematic investing. They are looking for a highly skilled Python Developer to join their Equities Delta One trading team. This role sits at the intersection of technology and trading, working closely with portfolio managers, traders, and quantitative researchers to design, build, and maintain low-latency, high-reliability tools and infrastructure for the Delta One desk. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Python for financial applications, experience in data-intensive environments, and the ability to translate complex trading workflows into robust, scalable systems. Application Development: Design, implement, and maintain Python-based trading, pricing, and risk tools for the Delta One desk. Data Engineering: Build and optimise data pipelines for real-time and historical market data, including equities, ETFs, futures, and swaps. Integration: Interface with market data feeds, order management systems (OMS), and execution management systems (EMS). Automation: Identify manual processes and build automated solutions to reduce operational risk and improve efficiency. Collaboration: Work directly with traders, quants, and middle office to ensure technology aligns with business needs. Performance & Reliability: Ensure systems are robust, efficient, and able to operate under high market volatility. Support: Provide L2/L3 support for trading systems, including rapid issue diagnosis and resolution during market hours. What Youll Need

Programming: Expert-level Python skills, with focus on performance optimisation and code reliability. Data Handling: Strong experience with Pandas, NumPy, and distributed data frameworks. APIs & Integration: Experience connecting to FIX/REST/WebSocket APIs and handling market data protocols. Databases: Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases; ability to design efficient data models for market data and trade records. Version Control & CI/CD: Git, unit testing, and automated deployment workflows. Experience in a fast moving engineering environment: hedge fund, financial markets focused FinTech, Big Tech etc.
