Overview
The ideal candidate for this Journey-level SDET/Quality Assurance (QA) position is a detail-oriented and technically proficient professional with a strong background in automated and manual testing methodologies. They will possess hands-on experience designing, developing, and executing test solutions that ensure the reliability and performance of complex applications. The SDET/Quality Assurance Tester reports to the Application Quality Assurance Supervisor and serves as a member of the LCD QA Team, as well as one or more feature development teams. This role supports the development, operations, and maintenance of Leave and Care Technology systems that enable the PFML and WA Cares programs. This Journey-level SDET/Quality Assurance (QA) position plays a pivotal role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of automated and manual testing solutions for both internal and external facing applications. Leveraging the Azure cloud platform as the primary development and deployment environment, the QA professional ensures systems meet defined business requirements and technical specifications. Responsibilities include design, development and creation of automated and/or manual tests and test suites; executing tests and test suites to facilitate continuous integration pipelines; evaluation and detailed reporting of test outcomes and the creation and maintenance of thorough documentation. Some of your daily duties may include but not limited to: Responsibilities
Using industry best practices and strategies, develop manual and/or automated test solutions for internal- and external-facing applications. Develop and maintain automated tests, including but not limited to: Unit, System, Functional, User interface, Integrations, Performance, Security. Design/create/update databases. Develop and maintain test applications/tools. Centralize and standardize tests and test suites for reuse. Conduct technical analysis of documentation, applications, data, and source code including system impact analysis, code analysis, business rule analysis, automation test analysis, acceptance criteria analysis, data result set analysis, decision tree analysis, and log/trace analysis; monitor and analyze system performance and test results. Create solutions to support continuous integration by designing and creating manual and/or automated tests, supporting test automation build workflows, creating release workflows, collaborating with Release Management, and validating code migration and implementation. Create and maintain technical documentation, including bug/issue reports, test specifications, test cases, functional workflow diagrams, and defect tracking. Create and maintain technical documentation Create bugs/issue reports Create test specifications Create test cases Create functional workflow diagrams Record defects in defect tracking tools Required Qualifications Option 1: Six (6) years of professional IT experience analyzing, testing, and/or maintaining software applications, or implementing software development projects with testing in an Agile environment. Option 2: Associates degree in computer science or related IT field and four (4) or more years of IT experience with analysis, testing, quality assurance, maintaining software applications, and Agile testing experiences. Option 3: Bachelors degree in computer science or related IT field and two (2) or more years of IT experience with analysis, testing, quality assurance, maintaining software applications, and Agile testing experiences. OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience totaling at least six (6) years. Required Competencies Experience with software quality assurance, development and/or programming including: Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner Object-oriented programming such as C# Scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio Cloud infrastructure, applications and APIs (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) Application Lifecycle Management Tools such as Azure DevOps Desirable/Preferred Education, Experience or Certifications Certification(s) in software testing techniques, methodologies and/or tools such as ASQ or ISTQB including: Certified Tester Foundation Level; Technical Test Analyst; Agile Tester; Certified Quality Engineer Familiarity with Microsoft productivity tools is essential. Experience with Azure DevOps/TFS for test management and with testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, Selenium). Experience analyzing and testing MS Dynamics CRM/Finance and Supply Chain Management components. Knowledge of HTML and CSS. Demonstrated teamwork and ability to work under deadlines. Familiarity with financial/state government contexts.
