The Application Platform Java Developer reports to Richard Christy and will be part of the team to architect, design, and develop the next generation architecture for the Sky Road platform. The Sky Road platform provides trade processing, portfolio management, portfolio optimization, compliance, and credit management functions for alternative asset managers. Working under Richs guidance along with the other members of the Application Platform team, this role will be focused on improving the scalability, performance, and functionality to build the next generation Sky Road architecture. Java/Spring and database skills, good communication and teamwork skills, and motivation to learn new skills are key to this role. Key Responsibilities

Improve scalability, reliability and performance of the Sky Road platform architecture to allow the application to scale to accommodate additional clients, features, and data volumes Improve the architecture to provide additional infrastructure to support features such as real-time event processing, integrating real-time external interfaces and data warehousing Assist in timely resolution of incidents and support day-to-day operations when issues occur in production Write automated JUnit and regression tests Help to improve and maintain documentation for internal team members Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Java experience, at least 5 years Experience with Spring Boot framework, Spring Security framework, JPA at least 5 years Experience with Relational/NoSQL Databases, at least 5 years Experience with Java Messaging Service (SQS, Kafka or similar) Experience with Hazelcast, Google Guava, or equivalent Java Cache technologies Experience with using AWS services to build application frameworks (i.e. AWS Fargate, AWS Lambda, AWS Load Balancers, AWS database technologies) Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Java IDEs Desired Qualifications

Experience with any of the following technologies: Hibernate, Snowflake, GraphQL, Python, JSON, HTML Experience with server-side API frameworks such as REST and/or WebSockets being called by a client-side contemporary web framework (i.e. Angular or React) Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and test framework such as JUnit/Mockito Committed to maintaining a clean, readable, and consistent codebase by making thoughtful and well-integrated contributions and participating in Git pull-requests/code reviews Familiarity building Financial Software Applications, specifically trade/position keeping systems Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The salary range estimate for this position is

$110,000 - $150,000 . The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors.
