Procare Hospice
Do you love arts & crafts? Do you have a craft stash or time you are looking to put to good use? Come join our team at ProCare and put that talent to good use! We are actively recruiting volunteers to help enrich the lives of not only our patients, but the community as well.
As a ProCare crafting volunteer, you will have a variety of options to choose from for your activities. We are recruiting volunteers for the following:
Make & take craft events: We go into various assisted livings and bring projects to do with the residents. We do everything from paint to making wreaths, decorating hats & more! The residents love and look forward to us coming and the more volunteers we recruit, the bigger impact we can make!
Crafting with patients: Some of our patients do still like to participate in arts and crafts and we work hard to create projects for our volunteers to take to their patients. We have both adult and children that love to take part in these activities.
Sewing or knitting for patients: This comes in a great variety. A popular item is the lap blankets - they use them on their chairs, walkers and scooters. It is also meaningful to receive something made with love and they appreciate it! Another item we do is Legacy items. This is where the family or caregiver of the patient has requested a memory item. They give us an item or more of clothing and we use that clothing to make Teddy Bears, Flowers for pins and so much more.
Jewelry making: We also do this in a variety of ways. Direct patient, if they like making bracelets or something similar, we will send our volunteer with a kit. We do make and takes for this in facilities as well. We have also incorporated this into our Legacy items, often times the patient will have bags or little boxes of broken jewelry they have held on to for years, or one long beaded necklace they loved. We can take those items and make them into something wearable, a memory.
And much more to come as we grow our program! Sign up and be a part of the start today!
