As a Purchasing Agent III, you'll be using your skills and expertise to purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization. You'll be responsible for qualifying our suppliers, monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery, evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services, tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our supplier information. Additionally, you'll provide subject matter expertise on complex procurements of significant dollar value, as well as independently manage multiple service type contracts. You'll help with the planning of the process for the purchasing function, and support programs. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience Higher education may substitute for relevant experience Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education Procurement experience Qualifications We Prefer: Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance Strong understanding of all aspects of finance and accounting related to procurement Complete understanding of the full cycle of procurement processes This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
