Lockheed Martin Space in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer. Candidate will support the Production Integrated Product Team (IPT) as a manufacturing engineer assigned to develop, optimize, and implement the heatshield bonding process for a specific product line as it goes through spiral development maturing into high-rate production. Selected candidate to integrate factory process data of each spiral as it is produced to plan, develop, and implement optimizations and efficiencies; investigate efficiency losses/issue corrective actions to establish a stable, repetitive, and high-rate production line. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of the following: Adhesive bonding and curing processes Composite materials and heatshield manufacturing Reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and specifications Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques Experience with process control and automation Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. Summary of Key Duties for this position: Develop and optimize heatshield bonding processes, procedures, and production layouts for an advanced manufacturing environment Represent manufacturing in peer reviews of engineering drawings to enhance the design for manufacturability of aeroshells Write production plans, inspect and assess defective hardware, and optimize production flow to meet program deliverables Communicate with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements and gain efficiencies in the heatshield bonding process Create bond fixture designs, analyze shop performance, and support Quality Assurance in root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related defects Support development and production of heatshields for various space applications Travel may be required Weekend or off-hour support may be required to support production schedules Basic Qualifications: Production Support Experience Design Review Experience Secret Clearance Required Desired Skills: Experience with heatshield bonding processes, including adhesive application, surface preparation, and curing Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques Familiarity with process control and automation systems Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
