We are seeking a licensed and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Blackfoot/Idaho Falls region. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in preparing geotechnical reports, conducting slope stability (slide) analysis, and supporting civil and structural engineering projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of infrastructure and development projects across Idaho and the surrounding region.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, conduct, and oversee geotechnical investigations for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Prepare detailed geotechnical reports including soil classification, foundation recommendations, and slope stability analysis.
Perform and interpret geotechnical testing including boring logs, laboratory results, and field data.
Conduct slope stability (slide) analyses and provide remediation recommendations as needed.
Provide geotechnical support for foundation design, retaining structures, earthwork, and pavement design.
Collaborate with project engineers, geologists, and construction teams to ensure practical and cost-effective solutions.
Interface with clients and regulatory agencies to support project development and permitting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering; Master's preferred.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and reporting.
Proficient with geotechnical software such as SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, gINT, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation systems, and slope stability methods.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Field experience with subsurface investigations and geotechnical instrumentation is a plus.
