HR Generalist

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team in the affordable housing and public sector industry. This position is ideal for a professional with strong experience in high-volume recruiting and benefits administration who is comfortable handling a wide range of HR functions in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Staffing Manage full-cycle, high-volume recruiting for a variety of roles, from job postings through onboarding. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and deliver qualified candidates quickly. Conduct interviews, reference checks, and coordinate offer letters. Benefits Administration Support annual open enrollment, ensuring clear communication and smooth processing. Act as the first point of contact for employee benefit questions and resolve issues with vendors. Maintain accurate employee benefit records and compliance with applicable regulations. HR Administration & Employee Support Process new hire paperwork, terminations, and employee changes. Maintain HRIS and personnel files with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Support employee relations efforts by assisting with policy questions and compliance matters. Handle time-sensitive HR documentation, including FMLA and other leave requests. Onsite Support Provide day-to-day HR presence for employees and managers. Assist with administrative functions to ensure HR operations run efficiently. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of HR experience, with a focus on recruiting and benefits administration. Prior experience in the affordable housing, nonprofit, or public sector industry highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruiting and tight deadlines. Knowledge of employment laws, benefits compliance, FMLA, and HR best practices. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport across all levels. Proficiency with ADP, ADP Workforce Now, HRIS systems, ATS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Requirements

Proven experience in human resource administration, including data verification and employee record management. Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and basic mathematical calculations. Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now for managing employee records and payroll. Knowledge of FMLA regulations and experience administering leave policies. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Ability to coordinate and facilitate training programs effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with employees and address HR-related inquiries. Experience in providing administrative support within an HR setting.
