Job Summary/Objective:
The Raw Material Handler performs required transactions into/out of warehouse. Supports production floor by supplying all materials required for the successful production of optical cables. Returns unneeded and unused materials to the proper warehouse location, with proper weights and paperwork required. Assist logistics department as required by logistic manager performing cycle counts, monthly inventories, and all other requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Moves reels to stock locations.
Verifies shipment packing lists to actual product in location.
Loads verified finished goods pallets onto outbound trailers.
Unloads raw material from inbound deliveries.
Locates raw material into warehouse bin locations.
Withdraws material and moves to manufacturing line as needed.
Completes cycle counts and audits of bin locations.
Prep reels for shipment and secure reels to pallets.
Load reels on trucks and flatbeds.
Must maintain fork truck license.
Loads, unloads, and, with the use of approved tools, moves reels to appropriate locations in accordance with operations workflows.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Identifies any potential safety hazards to Team Lead, or HSE Manager to promote the “Zero and Beyond” safety goal/initiative.
Completes all operator Preventative Maintenance (PM) duties and 6S tasks daily.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in effect presently, and adheres to any approved changes implemented from senior leadership.
All duties assigned by supervisor or shift lead.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic mathematic skills-adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and basic percentages.
Previous manufacturing experience
Must achieve required hours of OJT/ peer training and pass certification test within probationary time period.
Ability to learn and comprehend written instructions (daily operations tasks, and hazardous materials handling)
Ability to utilize hand tools in compliance with all safety guidelines.
Willing to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Tactful and professional manner
Ability to reflect and uphold company mission, vision and values in daily conduct.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. on your own.
Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, stand, and sit as needed to reach product while working (up to 12 hours)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing experience with plastic extrusion, fiber optic cables, or electronics
Experience working with Continuous Improvement (CI), or Lean processes.
Lean or CI certifications
Previous HFA/SAP/FastTrack experience
Previous experience operating a forklift.
