SQL (ADVANCED) Job Summary
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst - Development & Optimization is responsible for delivering actionable insights and data-driven solutions that improve productivity, service, and cost across our supply chain network. This role will focus heavily on advanced SQL development, while also leveraging Python, BI tools, and machine learning techniques to design scalable analytics, automate reporting, and support technology transformation initiatives. A strong foundation in
supply chain processes and operations
is required to ensure analytics directly align with business needs and drive measurable impact. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities SQL Development
Writes advanced SQL queries and optimizes pipelines to extract, transform, and analyze large-scale supply chain datasets. Analytics & BI
Builds and maintains dashboards, reports, and KPIs in Tableau/Power BI to communicate insights across distribution centers and leadership. Supply Chain Insight
Translates supply chain business requirements into technical solutions; applies domain knowledge to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Root Cause Analysis
Practices structured problem solving, repeatedly asking why to fully understand issues and ensure alignment with business objectives. Collaboration
Works cross-functionally with supply chain operations, IT, and external partners to implement BI solutions and support technology adoption. Validation
Confidently validates the accuracy and quality of data and models; proactively seeks clarification and feedback when unsure how to validate. Documentation & Training
Prepares business requirements, process documentation, and provides training and troubleshooting for end users of BI/analytics tools. Decision Support
Develops decision support tools and financial models to analyze cost/benefit tradeoffs of supply chain technology initiatives.
Nature and Scope
Strong expertise in
SQL
is required; ability to design complex queries, optimize performance, and handle large datasets. Familiarity with
BI tools
(Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) and
supply chain KPIs/metrics
(OTIF, inventory, transportation, order cycle time, etc.). Solid understanding of
supply chain operations
(distribution, inventory management, logistics, forecasting, or related). Work is performed with increasing independence; guidance is sought primarily on unusual or highly complex challenges. Hybrid role : 4 days in the office and 1 day remote per week. Minimal travel required (
). Requires extended time working with SQL databases, BI platforms, and Python-based analytics. Highly collaborative role, interacting frequently with supply chain operations, IT, and leadership stakeholders.
