This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
Overview
The Technical Trainer position will be responsible for developing and deploying a technical training program for Gwinnett County employees based on the software, systems, and equipment utilized within our organization. This includes developing training curriculum based on organizational needs, creating literature and materials to be used in the training program, designing exercises to enhance end user training courses, conducting training sessions, and evaluating the results of the training program to determine the overall effectiveness of the program. The Technical Trainer must be extremely knowledgeable in the field of expertise and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, must be an excellent communicator and be able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way.
Essential Duties
Create and maintain training materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, training aids, presentations, worksheets, etc.) and classroom agendas.
Produce training schedules and announcements.
Conduct training sessions, webinars, workshops, etc., in groups or individually, in-person or virtually.
Maintain and report data on completed courses, survey results, etc.
Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle. Maintain an awareness of the Office365 roadmap and releases.
Provide support for end user applications as needed.
Collaborate with internal departments to identify knowledge gaps and training opportunities.
Other Job Requirements/Information
This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, credit check, and fingerprinting may be required.
Hourly rate Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or in a related field
5 years of experience in a technical trainer role
Expertise in Microsoft 365 applications
Proficiency in creating multimedia training content (PowerPoint, video, manuals, etc.)
CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) Certification
MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) Certification
Valid Driver’s License from state of residency
