Float Patient Service Specialist (Internal Medicine/Family Practice)

to join our expanding team. At Optum, we aim to transform healthcare, providing physician-led care at a local level. Schedule (38.75 hours):

Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm EST. Your schedule will be discussed upon hire by your supervisor. Location:

This position requires travel between Reliant Medical Group locations in Shrewsbury, Southborough, Westborough, Framingham, and Milford. Your Key Responsibilities: Willingness to travel to various locations, with a strong ability to adapt, multitask, and work independently. Accurately collect and update patient information, including names, addresses, and insurance details. Verify insurance on the day of service and obtain required patient signatures. Upload valid government-issued IDs and patient insurance cards. File and maintain meticulous medical records. Resolve registration work queue errors efficiently. Confirm and schedule patient appointments proactively. Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously. Ensure accurate referral documentation and services in a timely manner. Engage daily with claims edit queues to rectify registration issues for insurance submissions. Assist patients with scheduling specialist and follow-up appointments, and procure lab results or specialist reports. Comply with all standards and policies to ensure optimal care delivery. Foster team collaboration to meet shared goals. Stay informed on current medical standards, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and implement patient care efficiently. Provide effective communication to patients, families, and healthcare professionals through documentation and case discussions. Notify clinical teams of schedule changes promptly. Demonstrate precision in managing documents and electronic records. Participate in orienting new employees regarding scheduling protocols. Maintain organized medical records. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 1+ years of experience in healthcare or front desk administration. Access to reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in a medical front office, including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, co-pay collection, and record maintenance. Experience in a high-paced work setting. Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web applications. Familiarity with Epic EMR software. Ability to work independently and maintain a productive workflow. Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare providers. Internal candidates currently employed by UnitedHealth Group or related entities are not eligible. The salary range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour for full-time employment.
