Overview
Our client in Warsaw, IN is looking for an IT Support Technician. This is a contract to direct hire position. The IT Support Technician Plant plays a vital role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure of our Warsaw automotive manufacturing plant. This hands-on position is responsible for supporting production-critical systems, maintaining plant-floor hardware, ensuring network reliability, and collaborating with central IT teams. The role demands a mix of technical expertise, responsiveness, and proactive maintenance to ensure smooth plant operations. Responsibilities Provide on-site IT support for hardware, software, network connectivity, and production-critical systems (e.g., MES, SCADA, HMIs). Troubleshoot and maintain PCs, label printers, scanners, and plant-floor network devices. Image, configure, deploy, and maintain end-user equipment and peripherals. Support onboarding/offboarding, account setup, equipment retrieval, and user training. Perform software installations, updates, preventive maintenance, and documentation. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and corporate IT policies. Escalate complex technical issues and collaborate with central IT and engineering teams. Serve as a walk-up support resource and contribute to asset inventory accuracy. Work in a manufacturing environment with physical demands (lifting up to 50 lbs) and flexible schedule requirements, including overtime and on-call support.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA are a plus. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in troubleshooting Windows-based systems and production IT devices. Familiarity with MES, SCADA, or industrial automation tools. Solid understanding of networking principles, including VLANs, TCP/IP, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting. Experience with device imaging and deployment tools such as SCCM, Intune, or similar platforms. Familiarity with IT asset management systems and accurate documentation practices. Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Effective communicator with ability to support both technical and non-technical staff.
