Tulsa (James Mountain Inhofe VAMC) - https://youtu.be/3fMEu0iS7_Q?si=Y5RtGcnKKbJGxxk6 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Oversees collection - receipt - and decontamination of all critical and semi-critical reusable medical equipment (RME) per manufacturer's IFUs - VHA Directive 1116 - IAHCSMM/HSPA - and AAMI standards Manages inspection - assembly - packaging - and terminal sterilization of surgical - dental - and medical instrumentation and implantable devices Troubleshoots sterilization equipment and interprets biological testing results to ensure effective sterilization Ensures proper storage - transport - and environmental control (temperature - humidity - airflow) to maintain sterility of processed items Oversees full reprocessing cycle of endoscopes used in GI - ENT - Pulmonary - and Operating Room areas - including manual cleaning - bioburden testing - and proper storage Manages high-level disinfection (HLD) for low-temperature reprocessing devices ensures quality testing and adherence to standards Performs daily administrative and personnel management for Decontamination - Endoscope Reprocessing - Preparation and Sterilization - and Quality Assurance areas Oversees staff orientation - development - and training programs - including tracking continuing education requirements and CEUs Plans work assignments - adjusts short-term priorities - and ensures procedures and deadlines are met for all RME reprocessing and distribution Develops - directs - and maintains a Quality Assurance (QA) program using biological testing - random sampling - and product evaluation Assists with Equipment Inventory Listing (EIL) and initiates 2237 requests for equipment turn-in or procurement Reviews temperature - humidity - and airflow logs to ensure compliance with VHA policy Coordinates policy development and revisions with the Chief of SPS and Infection Control to support operational needs Serves on or advises committees including RME Committee - Infection Control - Environment of Care - and Surgical Staff Supervises SPS employees performing a variety of duties related to sterile processing and decontamination Develops and evaluates employee performance standards conducts formal appraisals and makes recommendations on promotions or reassignments Hears and resolves complaints - approves leave - and ensures training requirements are met for certification maintenance Interviews candidates for SPS positions and recommends selections - promotions - and reassignments Integrates and coordinates SPS functions with broader Health Care System activities - ensuring alignment with patient care standards Monitors and evaluates sterile processing procedures for quality - safety - and appropriateness takes action based on findings Assists the Chief of SPS in managing labor relations and maintains a positive working relationship with union officials Handles serious complaints and disciplinary issues coordinates and delivers orientation and in-service training Demonstrates strong skills in workforce planning - adapting workflows - and achieving program goals amid changing requirements Develops and recommends new or revised policies that align with organizational goals and improve service delivery Performs other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Full-time - All shifts are primarily Monday-Friday but may include rotating shifts on weekends and holidays Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave - 13 days of sick leave - 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual - based on prior [work experience] or military service experience Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment - up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth - adoption - or foster care placement of a child Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment - full time employees with a total family income below $144 -000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66 Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position Functional Statement #: 623-52230-0
