The Dispatcher is responsible coordinating the logistics of Home Infusion delivery staff. This includes compiling patient supplies, scheduling deliveries, supply inventory management, driving as needed, preparing bio-hazardous and chemotherapeutic waste for disposal and other duties as assigned by management. The dispatcher must be an ambassador for Jefferson Home Infusion and shall provide superior customer service at all times to JHIS's external and internal customers.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*

Receives and manages telephone calls from patients, caregivers and other healthcare professionals who request medical supply deliveries based on the patient's location assigns JHIS drivers for delivery of medication and supplies.

Continuously monitors vehicle utilization and status and requests additional resources from the Director, Health Ventures when appropriate.

Communicates with each JHIS driver via digital pager or cellular phone, assigning deliveries and coordinating logistics relating to the patient

*

Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
