Seeking a skilled
Commercial Real Estate Accountant
to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and day-to-day accounting operations for a $4 billion property portfolio in Cambridge. This role offers a strong opportunity for future growth, industry exposure, and high-impact collaboration with the Asset Management team. The position offers a competitive pay rate up to $60.00 per hour and follows a hybrid work schedule, with two days per week in the Cambridge office and three days remote. Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records for assigned commercial real estate properties Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for property operations Oversee tenant account reconciliations and monitor investment returns Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with company standards Collaborate with the Asset Management and Real Estate teams to support strategic decision-making Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and escalate complex issues appropriately Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and industry regulations
Required Experience
5+ years of accounting experience specifically in commercial real estate Demonstrated history of working with accounting systems such as Yardi or Buildium Proven ability to produce high-quality financial reporting in deadline-driven environments
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with RealPage software Excel modeling or advanced spreadsheet skills Detail-oriented mindset with ability to manage multiple property accounts simultaneously
