Senior New Product Development Project Engineer Join us as a Senior New Product Development Project Engineer and make a significant impact on product realization by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of the new product design process. As a Senior NPD Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Leading segments of the design process, fulfilling assigned tasks, supporting team members, and ensuring timely project completion. Developing schedules and managing low-complexity projects with minimal supervision. Preparing budgets and defining resource requirements for projects within your scope. Supporting the completion of Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements. Ensuring projects adhere to specifications and standards, while promoting error-proof assembly. Creating project test plans and executing both internal and external testing programs. Constructing and testing prototype components or assemblies as needed during development and approval phases. Reviewing test data to ensure alignment with test plans and pre-test calculations while meeting or exceeding G&W requirements. Conducting engineering analysis related to the design of new products and their components. Performing formal root cause analysis and troubleshooting for new and existing products and processes. Documenting processes, material requirements, test results, and project activities as necessary. Collaborating with purchasing and vendors to select and approve component parts and assemblies. Providing engineering support to sales, marketing, and manufacturing for new and existing products and processes. Engaging with customer representatives to discuss product requirements and specifications when design or manufacturing challenges arise. Directing supporting personnel, including engineers, designers, and technicians. Adhering to established procedures for maintaining CAD databases and libraries. Participating in the review of engineering drawings prior to their release for manufacturing, and being responsible for final approval of applicable drawings. Ensuring selected parts and processes align with project and company goals for cost efficiency and reliability. Performing additional duties as assigned. We are seeking candidates who possess: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. At least 5 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or development, including: Experience with complex and innovative projects and the ability to tackle new challenges. Proficiency in 3D parametric modeling. Experience in finite element modeling and assessing design feasibility in mechanical, thermal, and multi-physics environments. Strong technical knowledge in mechanism design, linkages, springs, statics, dynamics, and material properties. Familiarity with various manufacturing methods such as casting, machining, molding, stamping, and forming. Understanding of the new product development Stage Gate Process. Strong writing skills for technical documents, including test reports and engineering standards. Ability to interpret technical standards effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with DFMEA and DOE, and with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis. Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Ideally, you will have: Experience with ProE/Creo and finite element analysis. A history of creativity, innovation, and self-initiative. Experience in medium/high voltage electrical power systems is a plus. Experience with design of trip-free, stored energy, or actuated mechanisms is a plus. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: General office environment with PC use. Light lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less). Stooping and standing. Frequent heavy lifting (25 lbs +). What we offer you: Typical pay ranges from $96,555 to $125,563 annually, based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
