Lead Biospecimen Strategy - Immunology/Rare Disease What You Will Do Embrace the opportunity to change the world! As the Biospecimen Strategy Lead (BSL), you will play a critical senior management role at the crossroads of science, operations, and strategy. You will architect biospecimen plans within a Therapeutic Area (TA), ensuring Amgen’s operations maintain scientific integrity and operational excellence, ultimately impacting patient outcomes. This highly visible role involves partnering with scientific and operational leaders and various governance bodies, while also directly influencing execution. It’s perfect for leaders who excel at connecting strategy to action, navigating complex environments, and fostering collaboration among internal and external partners. The BSL represents Amgen’s voice in biospecimen strategy both internally and externally, driving innovation and continuous improvement. Primary Responsibilities: Lead the strategic direction of biospecimen operations across a Therapeutic Area, enabling Amgen to deliver transformative therapies. Oversee biospecimen activities for Amgen clinical trials, ensuring scientific insights and decision-making support. Develop and implement forward-looking sampling and testing plans for translational research. Act as a visible and trusted influencer to executive leadership, guiding impactful scientific and operational decisions. Champion innovation by introducing best practices and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and data integrity. Serve as an advisor in governance settings, aligning biospecimen strategy with enterprise priorities. Inspire and develop biospecimen management capabilities to shape future leaders in this critical field. Represent Amgen in scientific forums and partnerships, establishing the company as a leader in biospecimen strategy. Key Activities: Strategic Leadership:

Lead the implementation of new practices and strategies, training partners to enhance organizational culture. People Leadership:

Mentor and develop biospecimen professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. Your Qualifications We value diverse contributions to our mission. The ideal candidate is a driven professional with the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Doctorate in life sciences, clinical research, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience; or Associate's degree with 10 years of experience; or High school diploma/GED with 12 years of experience Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in biospecimen management or translational sciences with leadership influence. Strong ability to provide strategic recommendations and influence cross-functional decisions. Proven experience in program management and vendor partnership. Familiarity with cGXPs, SOPs, and regulations related to biospecimen handling. Experience in preparing reports for senior leadership and presenting to executive partners. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and promote a collaborative culture. Proficient in data management tools such as Smartsheet and PowerBI. Strategic mindset and effective cross-functional leadership. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficient in leading change initiatives and capability-building efforts.
