About This Role
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking Veterinary Assistants to join our dedicated Small Animal ICU team to help provide exemplary patient care. Though there are many responsibilities of someone in this position, the primary responsibility is to provide clinical assistance to the ICU staff in the day-to-day operations of caring for critical patients. Individuals in this role will also provide meaningful support through maintaining inventory, organizing necessary equipment, and engaging in basic aspects of patient care. Working hours for Veterinary Assistants in this position will include overnight hours and some weekends. This position prioritizes effective communication and leadership skills daily.
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to VHC veterinarians and service Registered Veterinary Technicians in the performance of their duties. This position will provide patient care support, maintain area cleanliness and equipment upkeep, stocking of service supplies, and ensure medical record accuracy.

What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications:
-High school diploma -One year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
-Two or more years of experience as a veterinary assistant providing patient care. -Ability to work with and provide preventative maintenance for ordinary medical equipment. -Ability to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals. -Willingness to master new techniques.
