Facility Maintenance Technician
Location: amfabsteel, Inc. 100 Calle Industrial, Bernalillo NM, 87004 Reports To: Equipment Maintenance Manager Job Summary: The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures the operational efficiency of equipment to support production goals and maintains a safe working environment by adhering to maintenance schedules and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on industrial equipment according to established schedules. Conduct inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues. Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and valves. Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and lubrication of equipment components. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to the Equipment Maintenance Manager. Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols during maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections. Document equipment modifications and upgrades for future reference and compliance purposes. Complete maintenance reports and submit them to the Equipment Maintenance Manager. Collaborate with the Equipment Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritize maintenance tasks. Assist in the installation, relocation, and setup of new or modified equipment as needed. Support production operations by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies. Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Familiarity with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Skills and Competencies: Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Attention to detail and ability to perform precision work. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Tools and Equipment Used: Hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers). Power tools (drills, grinders, saws). Diagnostic instruments (multimeters, pressure gauges, alignment tools). Work Environment: Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Requires standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects. May involve working at heights or in confined spaces during equipment inspections or repairs. Quality Control: Ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime through effective preventive maintenance. Follow established procedures for equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair.
