Job Description:

The

DevOps Engineer

works together with a project team to deliver all the infrastructure and its supporting elements in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the best project outcomes. The DevOps Engineer works closely with Architects and customers to identify the low-level details needed to facilitate the implementation, and work together with Subject Matter Experts across the many infrastructure teams at Bank of America (Middleware, DBAs, SAs, Network, Load Balancing, Storage, Access Management, etc.) to ensure the successful builds. Strong interpersonal and technical skills are required, as is the desire and ability to constantly learn new things.

This job is responsible for configuring complex software delivery automation. Key responsibilities include ensuring software deployments are configured to meet access, ownership, and authentication standards. This job may modify code for software deployment automation and ensures software promotion pipelines for complex/high availability applications follow Continuous Delivery best practices. Job expectations include the ability to integrate development, testing practices, software delivery tools, and runtime application standards at the bank.

Responsibilities:

Configures and maintains the set of tools and services that provide Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) services and validates access control mechanisms for the Software and Infrastructure Engineering team throughout the software development lifecycle

Reviews the configuration of applications servers to confirm that CI/CD service platform onboarding pre-requisites are available and configured properly

Monitors and responds to alerts based on the key performance indicators (KPI) for the services supporting CI/CD and escalated events and issues from DevOps Engineers, creating issues and action-plan summaries for stakeholders

Mentors and clarifies issues and practices for DevOps Engineers

Works with Infrastructure, Solutions Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers to understand changes in CI/CD service platform components and behaviors and planned changes in monitoring and alerting capabilities

Responds to risk or audit identified issues with access control processed designed for compliance with firm separation of duties practices, and software release management standards and policies

Executes change tickets for CI/CD service onboarding and decommissioning using approved change management processes as scheduled by Software or Infrastructure Engineers

Terraform

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience

5+ years of hands-on experience with TerraForm and AWS

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Experience with Terraform Enterprise or Terraform Cloud

Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles

Experience with Git and version control workflows

Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline)

Understanding of container technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS)

Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions

Strong Excel and Visio skills

Scripting ability in Bash, Python, or similar languages

Experience with secrets management and infrastructure security

Understanding of networking concepts on AWS

Experience with configuration management tools

Understanding of software development lifecycle

Ability to design architectural solutions for complex technology problems using available and emerging technologies

Ability to work with various departments in a large organization to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan

Desired Experience with the majority of the infrastructure types listed below:

OS management experience (Windows and Linux)

Middleware (Apache, Weblogic, Websphere, IIS, etc.)

Databases (Postgres, RDS, Redis , Oracle, MSSQL)

Load Balancing (F5, AVI, Nginx, etc.)

Network (TCPIP, Firewalls, DNS, etc.)

Storage (Local, SAN, NAS, s3, etc.)

Active Directory and access management

Cloud infrastructure and virtualization

Up to date understanding of best practices regarding system security measures

Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience

Ansible experience

Scripting (BASH, Powershell, etc.) experience

Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
