Property Subrogation Investigator
Investigate and evaluate claim files to pursue subrogation opportunities related to property insurance. Works closely with claims adjusters, legal teams, and external stakeholders to identify and recover losses incurred. Duties and Responsibilities
Review property insurance claims to determine liability, identify potential subrogation opportunities, and assess feasibility of recovery. Conduct thorough investigations to determine liability, negligence, and causation factors in property-related incidents. Compile and maintain detailed records, evidence, and documentation related to subrogation cases, such as police reports, witness statements, and photographs. Collaborate with internal claims teams, policyholders, and external parties, including attorneys and third-party insurance companies, to facilitate subrogation efforts. Engage in negotiation and settlement discussions to recover losses on behalf of the Company. Assist legal teams in preparing and pursuing subrogation claims through litigation when necessary. Generate reports and provide regular updates on the status of subrogation cases to management. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements throughout the claims process. Stay updated on industry trends, laws, and best practices in property subrogation to improve effectiveness. Provide excellent customer service to policyholders and claimants by addressing their concerns and questions. Look for cost-effective solutions to minimize the financial impact of claims on the Company. Assess potential risks associated with claims and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. Essential Functions
Ability to write, read, and interpret documents, correspondence, and memos. Ability to communicate and deliver excellent customer service to internal and external parties verbally and in writing. Ability to think critically, systematically evaluate complex information, identify key factors, and make well-informed decisions based on sound reasoning. Ability to accurately document relevant information in a comprehensive and well-organized manner. Ability to research, stay up to date, and comply with state regulations pertaining to claims handling. Qualifications
Florida All Lines Adjuster License (6-20 License). Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. A combination of education and significant directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. At least 5 years of experience processing personal and/or commercial property claims and 2 years of experience assessing subrogation opportunities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented and exceptionally organized. Physical Requirements
