Part Time Scale Operator - Hutchinson, KS
ADM is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part Time Scale Clerk to support grain operations at our Hutchinson, KS Grain Elevator during the harvest season. This frontline role plays a key part in managing the flow of inbound and outbound grain trucks, ensuring accurate weights, grades, and data entry in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and able to multitask effectively during peak volume periods. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Weighing inbound and outbound trucks using computerized scale systems and ensuring accurate weight documentation Grading grain in accordance with company and regulatory standards Entering load data and transaction details into ADM's system with accuracy and timeliness Answering incoming calls, routing inquiries, and providing general information to drivers and customers Filing and maintaining paperwork, load records, and other administrative documents Communicating with operations staff and truck drivers to coordinate product movement and resolve issues Following ADM's safety protocols, company policies, and procedures at all times Required: Must be 18 years of age or older Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a zero-injury safety culture, including adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and use of PPE Ability to exhibit regular and prompt attendance during seasonal peak periods Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment Ability to maintain a professional and respectful attitude, especially under pressure Comfortable using a telephone for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various conditions including heat, cold, dust, and non-climate-controlled environments Ability to wear a respirator when required Preferred: High school diploma or GED Prior experience in agriculture, administrative support, or customer service roles Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel Experience with common office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and fax machines Strong attention to detail and organizational skills This role is located at an active grain elevator and involves both indoor and outdoor work. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, especially during harvest, and interact with truck drivers and plant personnel throughout the day. ADM requires the successful completion of a background check. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time. The pay for this position is expected to be: $18.00
