Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The Front Desk Agent is often the first point of contact for our guests and plays a vital role in creating unmatched guest experiences. This role welcomes and accommodates guests, oversees the registration and check-out process, promotes hotel services and amenities, and provides helpful information to ensure each stay is seamless and memorable. RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and welcome guests and visitors warmly and professionally, providing prompt attention and assistance. Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately, setting up accounts according to preferences. Accommodate room changes and special requests expediently. Maintain knowledge of hotel rates, promotions, room types, amenities, dining options, hours of operation, and local attractions. Resolve guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, reporting issues to management and ensuring proper service recovery. Accurately process guest payments, follow all cash handling policies, and maintain proper key control. Assist guests with information about city attractions, events, and nearby areas of interest. Communicate pertinent guest information to appropriate departments to ensure seamless service. Cooperate with other front office team members and departments such as Valet, Bell, Sales, and Accounting. Handle lost and found items responsibly. Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, and maintenance issues promptly. Maintain professional grooming, uniform standards, and a polished appearance. Uphold guest confidentiality and practice safety/security protocols including life safety and emergency procedures. Participate in ongoing training and actively contribute to team success. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the guest experience and hotel operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong customer service skills with a true desire to satisfy guest needs. Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English, both verbally and in writing. Professional appearance, demeanor, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Previous cashier or basic accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of hotel management systems and ability to accurately input information. Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. Knowledge of San Diego area attractions and community is a plus. EXPERIENCE: Previous customer service or front desk experience preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequent walking and ability to handle close quarters at the desk. Light lifting, bending, and reaching as needed. Ability to work in a busy front office environment with guest interaction.
