Job Description and Duties

While working for the Caltrans, Division of Equipment (DOE), the Highway Equipment Superintendent I (HES I) will work under the general direction of the Senior Equipment Engineer. This position assumes responsibility for data auditing, manipulation, and reporting using the Division of Equipment's (DOE) Fleet Management Software System (AW). Acts as the AW Liaison between HQ's IT staff and DOE. Actively participates in IT Meetings in support of their activities. Oversees and participates in AW user groups for the DOE. Collaborates with AW Materiel Coordinator and other branches within DOE to perform parts, inventory, labor, and fleet data auditing. Conducts meetings and has open communication with all levels of Division personnel. Must be very familiar with, but limited to, AW, MS Access and Excel. Must be able to analyze, sort/filter, and manipulate data to generate complex spreadsheets, charts, and reports. Employees will work in a climate?controlled office under artificial lighting, as well as travel to field locations at varying times of the day or night and inclement weather as required.
