Supply Chain Manager
Reporting directly to the Value Stream Manager and dotted line to the Materials Manager. The successful candidate will focus on the following key areas: Buying, On Time delivery, materials forecasting, sourcing, procurement, order fulfillment, supplier management, inventory management, report generation and analysis. Plays an active role in the development and execution of purchasing strategies that support the overall supply chain and maximize cost savings. Planning, review and align capacity models to meet customer delivery date, assess risk of past dues as needed, responsible for weekly and monthly production schedule to the broader team, and work with cross-functional team on prioritization and capacity constraints. Monitor and make timely recommendations of production based on changes or deviations within the business requirements. Key responsibilities include evaluating and acting upon MRP requirements, Kanban and Consignment levels for assigned commodities/suppliers/cells. Generates and adjusts purchase orders and/or shop work orders to support production schedules. Communicates areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals and/or suppliers. Inputs, maintains, and adjusts records or transactions to ensure system validity. Communicates forecasted requirements to external suppliers. Supports monthly SIOP planning processes with clarity on material availability and supply risks. Measures and communicates supplier performance to support supply chain continuous improvement efforts. Drives increased inventory turns, reduced cycle times, and improved Customer OTD by developing, implementing and managing pull-based material replenishment processes. Works closely with the Value Stream, Commodity Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to proactively identify and fulfill schedule attainment. Supports resourcing and out-sourcing projects by proactively planning materials to ensure uninterrupted flow of product to customers. Provides effective support to new product introduction teams, proposal development and subcontracting opportunities. Ensures quick resolution of shipping discrepancies, receiving errors, invoice errors, and authorizes all inventory adjustments. Coordinates adjustments to ship dates or quantities on open purchase orders as necessary. Works to eliminate excess and obsolete parts and rationalize similar parts. Participates in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events that will eliminate waste and result in significant benefits throughout the Supply Chain. Engenders a spirit of cooperation throughout the supply chain to insure responsiveness to the customer. Facilitates and coordinates with leads in proper resizing and monitoring KB levels on MRO items used in production. Conducts physical weekly audits of Kanban inventory process. Attends Gemba walk-through daily to provide feedback and guidance to the broader team. Experience/Training/Education: BS/BA in business or technical field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an MS/MBA in related field. Knowledge of supplier and component qualification processes. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment. Strong in capacity, production planning and scheduling skills. Risk analytical skills. Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines. Knowledge of: Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions. Includes a strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling software. Direct experience implementing lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc). Prior experience implementing and managing a Kanban or pull system approach to component flow. Direct experience working with suppliers from low-cost regions (Asia, Eastern Europe, Etc.). Knowledge of supplier performance management practices, including supplier scorecards and performance metrics. Skills: Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, MS project, etc.). Clear and Concise Communication. Team work skills. CPIM, CSCP, Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma Green Belt certifications highly desirable. Salary range: $33.41 - $39.50 with 5% bonus potential. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
