Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician's position is responsible for facility and equipment maintenance (office and plant), scheduling and coordinating with contractors and oversight of regulatory requirements related to building maintenance and environmental compliance. The Maintenance Technicians install, repair and maintain commercial and industrial machinery in a manufacturing setting. These technicians ensure all machines function properly through troubleshooting and preventative maintenance service. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance schedule. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintain 5S and proper housekeeping. (Ex: Putting tools away, sweep up and mop areas as needed) Backup to Maintenance Supervisor in his absence. Notifying Operations Director if parts need to be ordered while Maintenance Supervisor is absent. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Keeping up to date with equipment technology and software. Work with the alarm system company for response to security alerts or other emergencies. Determine plan of action for alerts. The decision to make repairs as needed. Welding/Electrical experience preferred Computer and PLC experience Industrial maintenance experience Knowledge of liquid filling machines, auger filling machines and pneumatic conveying. Capable of lifting 55 lbs without use of lifting equipment Working from aerial work platforms. Some overtime required Exposure to chemicals (Acids, bases, chelates, salts, surfactants and oils) High School Diploma J.M.
