Position Summary
The Compensation Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for analyzing, administering, and assisting with the evaluation, merit, market surveys and studies. in partnership with the Director, the position helps maintain salary structure development and maintenance. Administer implementation of negotiated salary increases and compensation program changes by calculating and communicating increase amounts and preparing increase data for upload into the HRIS. Provides advice to academic and administrative departments on compensation programs and position placements. This is a junior level position typically requiring course work or experience in business administration, statistics, human resources or comparable discipline.
This job requires in-person work on campus with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid model once trained.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2+ years of experience in compensation analysis or HR related experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate HR policies and programs to stakeholders. Knowledge of HR principles and practices, including job evaluation methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Higher education work experience. Experience working in a unionized environment. Advanced Excel skills. Expertise in data analysis and statistical methodologies.

Work Days/Hours Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule to be determined Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting annual salary for this position will be between $62,792 and $84,540 but may be negotiated above this range dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.

includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
