Sr. Purchasing Agent
LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high-growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. We own and operate 30 large wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States, totaling over 3 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity. LRE has an ambitious goal of 10GW of operating assets by 2028 and are developing and contracting an increasing pipeline of new projects every year. We take a full-lifecycle approach to our projects, built on a long-term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the environment. The Sr. Purchasing Agent procures goods, materials, and services for renewable energy projects and Leeward's corporate office. The Sr. Purchasing Agent will handle the sourcing, procurement, and closing of the purchasing transaction. This position can be located in Dallas TX, Houston TX, or Chicago, and provides a perfect opportunity for a professional looking for interesting work within a small team, the ability to expand their experience, work with all levels of the organization, and contribute to the company's success. Essential Functions:
Review and process purchase requisitions submitted by the company's departments. Establish, vet, and maintain vendors including maintaining contractors' safety records. Maintain vendor insurance certificate database and resolve policy discrepancies. Assist departments in product search, sourcing, obtaining price quotes, and product availability. Manage RFPs and contract bids, review terms and conditions. Negotiate pricing and delivery terms to reduce costs and meet operational and financial objectives. Liaison between vendors and legal counsel when executing service and supply agreements. Coordinate material deliveries and contractors to meet operational assignments. Enter purchase orders and proposals in the database, submit purchase orders and service agreements to vendors. Review, research, and investigate receiving and billing documents against approved purchase orders and resolve invoicing discrepancies and disputes accordingly with the appropriate internal contacts/department(s) Maintain and update internal purchasing documents. Process returns of goods to vendors. Assist with annual inventory counts. Maintain material database. Facilitate shipping of goods inbound and outbound. Qualifications:
High School Diploma required, College Degree and Trade School graduate is a preferred. Purchasing experience, general accounting, solar and wind energy experience is a plus. Negotiation skills. Strong prioritization and organizational skills. Technical aptitude and knowledge of the electrical industry is preferred. Ability to work closely with members of various groups within Leeward. Ability to follow up on discrepancies until the matter is resolved. Ability to remain focused and reliable in completing tasks and meeting deadlines. Demonstrated use of initiative, follow-through, and a common-sense approach. Ability to work well under pressure and to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to take direction well and possess a pleasant disposition. Strong problem-solving skills. Effective communication written and orally. Typing skills 40-50 wpm. Proficient use of computers (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Power Point, D365, Word, Excel, Adobe, inventory data base software, and internet).
