The HR Generalist is a strategic and hands-on role that provides a broad range of services and support to an assigned group of store locations, supporting our people initiatives, business objectives and strategic goals. The position serves as primary point person and consultant to associates and leaders on human resources related topics and issues. Acting as an associate champion and change agent, the role assesses and anticipates HR related needs, communicates proactively with the HR team and delivers value-added services. Engages in the anniversary and performance review process with leaders; provides regular performance management guidance to managers (e.g. coaching, career development, disciplinary actions), makes compensation related recommendations and encourages the use of other reward and recognition tools Collaborate with HR team members to deliver required expertise, resources and services to drive initiatives Supports the implementation of HR programs, communication and initiatives Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation Facilitates new hire orientation and new leader onboarding sessions; manages specific leader onboarding plans accordingly Visible in store locations focused on answering associate questions, developing a working relationship to assist in furthering associate engagement and is the HR point person. Assist in the stores during peak holiday seasons as needed Complete other miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Human Resources with a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines A minimum of three years of HR Business Partner experience Experience in supporting hourly associate client groups preferred Excellent customer service skills Strong communication and problem-solving skills Strong sense of urgency and ability to handle sensitive information Excellent attention to detail Excellent time management, prioritization and organization skills Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner Strong sense of team ability to anticipate the needs of the team Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, procedures to continuously improve Comfortable working in a high volume, fast paced environment and not afraid to roll up your sleeves Understanding of state and federal employment laws Ability to travel to stores 60% of the time Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
