Job Summary
Our
HVAC Service Technician III
is a senior-level technician responsible for performing complex maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, independent decision-making, and leadership in mentoring junior technicians. The HVAC Service Tech III ensures customer satisfaction through quality service, timely response, and professional communication. Essential Duties
Performs advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, VAV systems, and controls.
Leads preventive maintenance programs to maximize system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Installs and commissions new HVAC equipment and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Provides technical support and mentorship to HVAC Service Technician I and II staff.
Responds to emergency service calls, prioritizing customer needs and ensuring timely resolutions.
Utilizes diagnostic tools, schematics, and control systems to resolve complex technical issues.
Completes and maintains accurate service records, time logs, and documentation within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Communicates directly with customers to explain technical issues, solutions, and recommendations.
Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies at all times.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; technical/trade school or associate degree preferred.
5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience, including advanced troubleshooting and repair.
Current
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
required.
Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration cycles.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in a variety of physical environments.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
Additional industry certifications (NATE, OSHA, chiller/boiler certifications, etc.) highly preferred.
