Journeyman Computer Systems Engineer/Architect
GovCIO is currently hiring a Journeyman Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to support our newly awarded United States Coast Guard (USCG) Maverick contract. This position will be a remote position. Responsibilities include gathering information concerning the capabilities of company products, investigating the technical capabilities of company products and competing equipment and/or solutions, and staying abreast of developments in hardware and software. The role also involves generating quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and ensuring requirements comply through formal verification methods. The engineer/architect will translate high-level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and work with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. They will establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the network and system development, design interfaces, and bring network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Performance assessment, customer liaison, and support for business development activities will also be part of the role. The candidate will coordinate the planning, design, and installation of equipment, participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts, install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks, and generate system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Additionally, the candidate will monitor system performance and implement performance tuning, and review test plans/procedures to ensure they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participate in the testing process to validate requirements. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of system engineering experience (or commensurate experience) and clearance required up to an active Secret clearance M066.
