Overview
Position Description: Develops custom tools and web services using Java, Python, Flask, or Django. Analyzes data and information to support the needs of investment professionals. Works directly with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to develop technology solutions supporting portfolio management, construction, trading, and risk oversight. Utilizes frameworks such as Spring Boot to develop RESTful APIs. Supports investment management, research, trading and investment operation functions using AWS cloud environment development and deployment. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. Primary Responsibilities
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. Education and Experience
Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing Web applications using Single Page Applications (SPAs) and RESTful APIs. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing Web applications using Single Page Applications (SPAs) and RESTful APIs. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing technical and functional analysis for Web based applications and creating User Stories, using Jira and Confluence. DE designing and building Web applications (Single Page Application (SPA) components and modules), using client-side technologies -- Angular 9+, JavaScript, TypeScript, Material UI, and AG-Grid; and building web applications using Angular JS and HTML. DE writing test cases to maintain standard code coverage, using Jasmine; performing Test Driven Development (TDD) and quality testing to rapidly deliver, measure, and iterate features to customers; and testing automation at multiple levels -- unit, component, integration, and functional tests -- and performing post-installation testing to identify and resolve technical problems, using Jasmine, Junit, Mockito, Cucumber Karate, SonarQube, and Postman. DE building and deploying Web applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated deployment tools -- GIT, BitBucket, Maven, Jenkins, and uDeploy. Category
