Supervise the service of meals to ensure maximum resident enjoyment and that services are delivered continuously, predictably, and efficiently. Assist residents and other servers in all areas of resident meal service (salads, soup, entrees, beverages, desserts, etc.) as necessary. Ensure the dining room POS system operates efficiently, accurately, and timely; troubleshoot problems and train staff on system use. Ensure proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g., serving from left, clearing between courses). Supervise cleaning and side work in the dining room and kitchen; establish and post side work assignments for all shifts. Chart and assign dining room sections for wait staff as needed. Ensure proper setup of dining room tables and stations with utensils, chinaware, glassware, sugars, salt, pepper, creamers, and crackers; manage beverage stations. Bus tables, clear dishes, clean tables and chairs, and maintain clean floors; flip tables as needed. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and clutter-free work environment at all times. Participate in discussions to identify concerns and reinforce residents’ independence and engagement. Participate in resident orientation programs and develop professional relationships with residents to support transitions during meals. Assist with planning of food items for Activities, Marketing, and Special Events as requested. Qualifications

Must be eighteen (18) years of age High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other education in food service/management preferred Prefer one (1) year of experience in a restaurant or similar environment Prefer one (1) year of supervisory/managerial experience Able to safely operate standard household equipment (dishwasher, iron, vacuum, washer, dryer) Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care Able to work with seniors and interact with cognitively impaired individuals Able to be flexible, adapt to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks Able to analyze and resolve problems Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid certification Able to obtain and maintain valid Food Handler’s certification, as needed Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of start date May be required to vaccinate and participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear PPE per regulatory guidelines
