POSITION DESCRIPTION: Tech 1 is a skilled hands-on role at Creation Technologies, focused on executing basic equipment repairs and performing routine maintenance procedures. This entry-level position is crucial for those starting their career within the high-tech electronics manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include basic troubleshooting, adherence to safety lock out tag out standards, and effective collaboration with team members. This role is key for keeping our equipment in good running condition and part of ensuring on-time delivery of customer ordered products. This is a role that combines hands-on experience with ongoing vocational skills growth, offering insights into electronics manufacturing processes and an initial pathway for future advancement to other more advanced positions within Creation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to: Demonstrates a foundational understanding of equipment operation and lock out tag out safety procedures. Executes equipment repair tasks and performs routine preventive maintenance work under Operations and Engineering supervision. Takes care of ensuring that the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is kept current with repair parts usage and that completed preventative maintenance tasks are logged. Handles routine preventive maintenance tasks and escalates significant issues identified as necessary, ensuring that machine performance meets the equipment vendor's specifications and is in compliance with safety standards. Collaborates effectively within the Operations and Engineering team, communicating technical information clearly and contributing to operational goals. Assists in the implementation of Installation Qualification (IQ) activities on both new and relocated equipment. Supports continuous improvement efforts by periodically providing feedback on the running state of equipment they service. Provides input to Operations & engineering for which equipment needs refurbishment or replacement. Updates the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with both PM completion status as well as any unplanned repairs performed, or reactive maintenance, as required. Effectively communicates task challenges and discoveries to their internal interfaces. Recommends Purchases of Parts & PM Supplies that were depleted as part of their duties. Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing frequency of repairs and communicating to their leadership on those testers that appear to be needing the most attention in any given quarter. Executes equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) on machines and associated peripheral equipment as assigned by their leadership. Engages in repairs on manufacturing equipment as assigned by supervisor. Assists with the implementation of new process equipment by participating in the verification of installed utilities and identification of lock-out tag-out energy sources. Assists in in-house custom equipment build activities support when requested. Troubleshoots equipment as assigned. Collaborate with the manufacturing equipment vendor, for troubleshooting and swiftly repairing equipment, as required to minimize downtime. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Required Experience High School Degree, GED or military training experience. With a focus on vocational skills preferred. 1 to 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing preferred. Skills Required Understanding of equipment operation and lock out tag out (LOTO) safety standards. Proficiency with using tools, simple measuring devices, and/or troubleshooting. Effective oral and written English communication and collaboration skills. Must be detailed oriented. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to general work safety guidelines. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail required. Capacity to learn and apply new skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Proficient in using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred. WORKING ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS Physical and/or Mental Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to kneel, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel office equipment, objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and identification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions The working environment is generally clean; however, this position may be exposed to occasional dust, lubricants, solvents, metals/solder occasional exposure to high noise levels from operating machines or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The employee must wear designated PPE and/or electrostatic dissipative protection where required. Otherwise, office/business casual attire, consistent with site specific safety expectations, is appropriate. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $20-$27 per hour. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance based bonuses and benefits.
