Responsibilities Supporting the operations and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure, including, but not limited to, vCenter Server Appliance, vRealize Operations Manager (vROps), and vRealize. Performing upgrades and applying patches or firmware updates to the virtual infrastructure software or hardware. Leverage a good understanding of Private and Public Cloud technologies. Assist the team in NSX-T with implementing and maintaining a large deployment of an NSX overlay on top of a spine/leaf topology. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to expedite incident resolution. Provide operational support on a wide range of technologies, including VMWare NSX, Cisco, Citrix Load balancer, VMWare Networking, Routers, Switches, software-based networking, firewalls, ACLs, and DMZ. Strong Data Center knowledge including Nexus routing & switching. Extensive experience in WAN technologies and switching technologies with failover mechanisms. Expertise in TCP/IP model, OSPF, BGP, IP addressing and routing best practices. Expertise with switching technologies such as VTP, 802.1Q, VLAN, EtherChannel, Trunking, Port Security, STP and RSTP. Experience with Cisco Nexus 7K/9K, Catalyst 9000 switches, and 5K UCS ISR 4000 and 1000 routers. Robust experience operating and troubleshooting complex networks with segmentation and virtualization. Strong experience with Cisco ACI Spine and Leaf architecture. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers). Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE: Qualified applicants must have a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Full term of experience must include: working knowledge of hyper-converged network environments and software-defined networking technologies; hands-on experience with stackable switching, software-defined network access and wireless assurance; experience with network data protection, business continuity, and disaster recovery options, configuration and execution; ability to deliver on complex network situations without guidance; programming/scripting in Unix using APIs, Python or equivalent; ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers, and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements; knowledge of IT business processes and ITIL methodology; experience with data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery options, configuration and execution. Approximately 5% domestic travel required. Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) times per week.
