Overview
Reporting to the President & CEO, Hill & Smith Inc., the VP of Sales and Marketing builds, maintains, and expands relationships with channel partners to support growth in the Roadside Safety family of products. The main objective is to drive increased revenue while maintaining or growing margin. The VP Sales and Marketing is responsible for achieving sales, profitability, and channel partner recruitment objectives, as well as growth through channel partners. This role drives growth through Key/National Accounts, Exclusive Distributor Partners, Non-exclusive Dealers and Distributors, and other direct sales opportunities. This position requires a high-energy, results-driven leader who can oversee growth initiatives for the Roadside Safety division, develop strategic business plans, and manage performance and productivity of functional personnel to achieve results. The incumbent should create an environment that supports shared risk-taking and know when to conduct deep-dive analyses to drive actions. The leader will motivate a team to implement sales growth initiatives, policies, and agreements to increase revenue and profitability, and will develop, propose, and implement strategic partnerships with key channel partners to support Hill & Smith Inc. and Roadside Safety revenue growth objectives. Responsibilities
Develop and execute a revenue growth plan to significantly increase market penetration and profitable revenue growth through existing and new sales channels. Drive strategic channel management by leading a joint partner planning process, developing mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and milestones; effectively manage channel partners to influence product demand and support business growth in marketing, training, and product specification. Provide a positive customer service experience for all channel partners; develop and nurture productive relationships with key personnel; ensure resources are available to provide world-class support aligned with market trends; implement process and system enhancements to streamline channel performance. Develop and maintain channel-specific market and industry analysis; lead research initiatives to understand product competitiveness, market share, distributor/dealer performance, and future growth opportunities; develop a Total Market Potential model and VOC/VOB processes; address regulatory requirements in the Roadside Safety industry. Provide leadership and direction to achieve annual revenue growth; manage four direct reports and a total organization size of approximately 12 associates focused on sales, channel partner development, and strategic marketing. This position has direct supervisory responsibilities and will recruit, hire, train, and manage employees in accordance with Hill & Smith policies and applicable laws; provide performance management, coaching, and problem resolution to build an engaged workforce and strong process development. National Sales Director Sales Operations Coordinator Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field. MBA strongly preferred but not required. 10+ years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience leading sales, marketing, and technical teams to achieve business objectives; strong knowledge of industrial manufacturing and related markets. Strong ability to develop and implement strategic growth initiatives across multiple sales channels; experience with data-driven sales forecasting and marketing analysis. Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and leadership skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; financial skills with budgeting and investment analysis. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; computer skills related to analysis tools and ERP systems. Strong people leadership with a focus on managing results and on hiring, developing, and mentoring productive teams. Core Values
