Position: Director Film Corporate Communications
Overview
A confident, highly organized individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who has experience in film and is comfortable liaising with clients, talent, talent reps, producers/filmmakers, and media. A PR professional who is strategic, creative, and passionate about exceeding client expectations. A strong leader and self-starter who can direct accounts from the ground up and provide overall tactical and organizational guidance through material development, strategy, relationships, speaking opportunities, and related activities. The role requires leading clients, the team, and projects in day-to-day activities, and developing and executing strategy to maintain year-round retained corporate clients. The position includes drafting and servicing press releases, media materials, messaging points, presentations, new client proposals, and other documents as needed, with the ability to bring in new business. Responsibilities include: External
Provide ongoing strategic counsel, responsible for project outcomes and managing employee work across numerous accounts. Lead high-profile/larger campaigns concurrently and independently, liaising with major clients without supervision. Determine client expectations and develop strategies based on their input and goals. Establish overall positioning across DDA’s corporate clients. Problem-solve major campaign issues independently and discuss potential solutions directly with the client. Draft and review all press releases ensuring on-point communications, including working through approval processes and servicing trades and wider outlets. Field inquiries and pursue coverage in the trades and consumer press. Close trade and press relationships, ensuring DDA clients stay top of mind. Anticipate industry changes and develop creative solutions. Ensure that all responses to journalists and media inquiries are accurate and timely. Internal
Recognize where workload could be more effectively divided and flag with the team’s lead. Respond to new client directives and expectations. Bringing in and maintaining corporate business. Refine new business pitches and lead presentations and proposals for large account opportunities. Define fees and scope of work with clients. 3 days in-office per week (subject to change). The ideal candidate will possess the following: 8-10 years of experience in Corporate PR. Experience in film is a must – including festival campaigns and strategy. Proven leadership and strategic experience in PR within the Film, TV, and Entertainment sectors, with strong client and team management. Exceptional relationship-building skills with clients, senior management, and key stakeholders. Experience with major film festivals. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Eagerness and willingness to learn. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. About DDA
