Under the direction of Cardiology - Wilshire Management, the Call Center Coordinator performs all tasks related to patient scheduling and pre-registration in an efficient, accurate and hospitable manner to ensure that patient, physician and organizational needs are met. Works closely with management to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Engages in performance improvement activities as needed and serves as a communication facilitator for area of responsibility.

PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network serving approximately 3 million residents in the Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Gabriel Valley region. The network includes PIH Health Downey Hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Whittier Hospital, 37 outpatient medical office buildings, a multispecialty medical group, home health care and hospice services, and services in heart, cancer, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s health, urgent care and emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient scheduling and pre-registration tasks accurately and with hospitable service.
• Collaborate with management to troubleshoot and resolve issues and participate in performance improvement activities as needed.
• Serve as a communication facilitator within the Cardiology - Wilshire area of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Required Experience
  • Successful completion of high school education or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Ability to maintain composure and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred
  • Telephone experience with excellent telephone etiquette
  • Knowledge of insurance/authorization processes and basic medical terminology
  • Medical Assistant
  • Work experience in a call center setting
• Spanish/Chinese bilingual is preferred
