Business Development Officer, Schwab Wealth Advisory- (West Division) Position overview for the Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA) team within Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS). The Business Development Officer will promote, retain, and delight clients of Schwab’s premier wealth management solution. The role focuses on building trusted relationships with local Financial Consultants and Wealth Advisors, providing education and support to their clients and investors interested in SWA, and effectively communicating the value of SWA to individuals and internal partners.

Responsibilities

Promote, retain, and delight clients of Schwab Wealth Advisory.

Build trusting relationships with local Financial Consultants and Wealth Advisors; provide education and support to their clients and investors interested in SWA.

Communicate the value of SWA clearly in one-on-one interactions and group presentations.

Stay well-versed in wealth management concepts, Schwab’s broader solutions, and industry trends.

Engage potential investors, internal partners, and SWA clients to understand and meet each investor’s needs with best-in-class services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Active and valid FINRA Series 7 & 66 (license(s) may be obtained under a condition of employment)

10 years of experience in business development and relationship management with a proven track record

10 years of experience with wealth management – financial planning and investment planning

Preferred: CFP designation or MBA equivalent

Understanding of traditional investment styles and vehicles (e.g., separately managed accounts, ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income assets) and investment strategy

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to present articulately to large groups (industry conferences, webcasts, internal meetings, etc.)
