The Role
Reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Insights and Analytics, the Director, Commercial Forecasting and Analytics will lead market research, forecasting and related commercial insights initiatives in support of key business decisions across the NSCLC portfolio. The role requires deep understanding of current market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer perspectives to drive commercial strategy, product positioning, and launch readiness. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional in market research, forecasting, analytics and/or commercial insights with a strong oncology background, particularly NSCLC, and a passion for data-driven business strategy.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead the market research and analytics strategy to support pre-launch planning, brand forecasting/long-range planning, future marketed products, and pipeline assets.
Define and oversee high-level strategic initiatives in market intelligence, competitive landscape analysis, and commercial insights generation in collaboration with the Corporate Strategy team.
Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, proactively identifying opportunities and risks within the NSCLC market that help shape brand strategies.
Lead the development of commercial forecasting models in support of near-term execution and longer-term business strategy development.
Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Supply Chain, and Clinical Development teams to ensure research findings align with business objectives and can be translated into actionable recommendations for Nuvalent’s executive leadership team.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting frameworks to monitor market trends, launch performance, and commercial effectiveness.
Work with I&A peers to lead qualitative and quantitative research and analytics (including ad-hoc) to understand physician, patient, and payer perspectives on NSCLC treatment landscapes.
Lead ongoing competitive landscape assessments, monitoring key players, clinical developments, and emerging trends in NSCLC.
Identify key market trends, unmet needs, and opportunities to shape brand strategy and commercialization efforts.
Drive the integration of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence models, and machine learning into business intelligence and commercial planning.
Mentor broader Commercial Insights & Analytics team members, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, and professional development.
Manage relationships with third-party vendors and external market research partners, ensuring high-quality, actionable insights.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, investor presentations, and high-level strategic discussions as required.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
10+ years of forecasting and analytics experience, with at least 5 years in oncology (NSCLC preferred).
Proven expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, competitive intelligence, and data analytics – specifically to support forecast development (e.g. demand studies, chart audits, EMR data synthesis, etc.).
Strong understanding of NSCLC treatment paradigms, KOL perspectives, and market dynamics.
Experience supporting product launches and commercial strategy development.
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, impactful insights for senior leadership.
Strong vendor management skills and ability to drive projects within budget and timelines.
Excellent communication, presentation, and strategic thinking skills.
Experience building systems, processes, and support structures within fast-paced, start-up environments preferred.
