Senior Director of Merchandising

for jewelry. This position oversees a team of Merchandise Directors and leads our assortment strategy to build and manage compelling product offerings, driving growth and meeting customer needs. The role blends creative vision with analytical rigor to shape assortment plans and optimize in-season performance. Responsibilities

Assortment Definition:

Use trend insights, sales performance, customer data, and competitive analysis to develop product strategies spanning classic and fashion styles across all categories. Build assortment plans with multiple Merchandise Directors. Ensure assortments meet the needs of self-purchasing women as well as gift-giving opportunities around key holidays. Merchandise Analysis:

Perform analytical reviews of merchandise performance (sales, margin, unit velocity, inventory productivity) to inform pricing, growth opportunities, and SKU rationalization. Regularly evaluate SKU productivity to optimize inventory efficiency and reduce complexity for customers. Oversee day-to-day category initiatives:

Collaborate with the GMM and Merchandise Directors to create fresh product collections balancing newness, core styles, price points and thematics. Develop business plans: Support annual and seasonal merchandising planning, new channel introductions, and define marketing exposure opportunities. Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, and Creative teams to bring product stories to life across channels. Market & Competitor Analysis:

Monitor market trends, competitive strategies, and pricing benchmarks to inform product positioning and innovation opportunities. Track shifts in consumer preferences and whitespace opportunities. Customer-First Mindset:

Develop deep understanding of customer segments and use that knowledge to inform product strategy and channel-specific assortment planning. Team Development:

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing merchandising team; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and consumer-first thinking. Experience and Required Qualifications

10+ years of progressive merchandising experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a DTC / e-commerce jewelry brand. Proven track record of driving product and merchandising strategies that result in revenue growth and margin improvement. Strong experience in the jewelry category or related accessories/fashion verticals is preferred. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent leadership and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Experience working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
