Head of CRE Loan Portfolio Management, VP
Position Summary: Join State Street as Head of CRE Loan Portfolio Management, VP. The Global Credit Finance (GCF) lending division supports and retains bank clients through our balance sheet, and adds income and diversification to State Street’s portfolio. The CRE Lending team provides term loans secured by first lien mortgages on commercial real estate properties to institutional clients, and is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, closing and ongoing surveillance of the portfolio.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Lead and coordinate a team of analysts in all portfolio management tasks, including annual credit reviews and valuations, quarterly performance tracking, property inspections, and monthly/quarter team reporting.
Ensure CRE assets/collateral are appropriately underwritten and valued, factoring in market trends via third-party reports and capital market conditions.
Manage client engagement for loans within the portfolio, including modifications and workouts in collaboration with Credit, Legal, and Finance as necessary.
Oversee portfolio performance, lead presentations and discussions with Credit Committee, Quarterly Exposure Review, Co-Lenders, etc.
Liaise with internal operations/finance teams and third-party servicers to ensure loan bookings, modifications, payoffs are accurately reflected in source systems.
Provide ongoing management of team reports, identify areas for improvement, and develop team experience through clear, constructive feedback.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of CRE loan experience, preferably in a banking environment.
Masters or Undergraduate degree, specializing in CRE or finance related fields.
Strong understanding of commercial real estate transaction documents, legal frameworks and loan agreements.
Strong valuation skills and experience with valuation methodologies (Argus, direct capitalization, sales comparison approaches).
Ability to lead a team proactively and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); ability to present at executive levels.

Salary Range $130,000 - $205,000 Annual. Note: The range applies to the role in the primary location; ranges may differ if the candidate works outside the primary location.
