The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our client. This role involves recommending and preparing plans, procedures, and directives relating to the client's Financial Management System and related financial functions across projects. You will perform tasks to ensure smooth internal processes and client satisfaction. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking Analyze financial data and create models and reports for decision support Report on financial performance and prepare for project leadership reviews Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make improvement recommendations Work with project management to ensure accurate financial reporting Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts Interpret data and research accounting ledgers Maintain financial forecasting, models, and expenditure tracking Develop cost lifecycle analyses including spend plans and obligation plans Support projects by examining financial records for accuracy, reporting, and compliance Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with grant programs and outcomes Audit grant fund expenditures for stipulations and deadlines Apply state and federal guidelines to establish financial records and controls Respond to inquiries and provide information to management and third parties Support auditors and reviewers; compile findings and recommend corrective actions Provide consultation and technical support to meet compliance requirements Assist on portions of projects and ensure contract scope and timeline are followed Gain experience across Emergency Management areas and provide client deliverables across Divisions Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective verbal and written communication Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Ability to multi-task Strong critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving Excellent organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork Flexibility to adapt to changing roles and projects Experience and Education
1-3 years in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting 1-3 years knowledge/experience in emergency management disciplines 3-5+ years customer service experience 1-3 years knowledge of FEMA Public Assistance or recovery/response programs Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel Experience/Education Preferred
Bachelor's degree in business management, emergency management, finance, or accounting 3+ years in emergency management consulting or related fields Experience validating eligible FEMA Public Assistance costs (e.g., Category A Debris Removal) Business development experience Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel Supervisory Responsibilities
The financial analyst may lead projects or small teams with senior level support. Hours and Travel
Schedule may vary. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Up to 50% travel; deployment to client sites may be required for extended periods. Physical Demands
Mobility on-site with clients Long periods seated or standing Prolonged computer use Ability to lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly Working Environment
Remote or home office with potential field deployments On-site work at client locations (e.g., EOC, hospitals, government buildings) Remote work location agreed at hire; changes require HR and leadership approval Additional Qualifications
