Overview
DePaul University's Division of Advancement & External Relations (AER) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Digital Communications to manage our multi-channel digital communications strategy. This role is crucial in advancing our mission to raise funds for the university and maintain strong engagement with alumni and donors. The Director will develop and implement comprehensive digital communication strategies across channels, oversee the Marketing Cloud implementation, and lead a small team to drive engagement and support fundraising efforts. What You'll Do
Program Management: Develop and implement comprehensive email, social media and video strategies to increase engagement and giving with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders. Oversee daily management of AER websites and implement a website strategy (UX + content). Content Development: Manage existing content and oversee new content creation across digital platforms including writing, editing and proofing copy. Incorporate video in digital communication efforts. Marketing Cloud Management: Utilize Marketing Cloud to enhance digital marketing efforts, including designing and implementing targeted campaigns across multiple channels, leveraging features like Journey Builder and audience segmentation. Partner with AER Salesforce Administrator, Advancement Services, and University Marketing Cloud Administrators to implement and manage the Advancement Marketing Cloud platform. Email Communications: Manage the high volume of email communications sent to alumni, donors and parents. Data and Analytics: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics across all digital marketing channels; provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders; use data to inform decision-making and optimize resource allocation. Staff Management: Lead two digital communications specialists and oversee all responsibilities including email, websites, social media and video. What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in higher education or university advancement. Proven track record of building and leading digital marketing teams. Strong leadership and team management skills; excellent copywriting and content creation abilities. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and marketing automation software; experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus. Experience with fundraising and alumni engagement in a higher education setting. Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing automation platforms is preferred. Compensation and Perks
Anticipated hiring range: $64,662.00 to $85,000.00 per year. Final compensation offered depends on experience, education, and other factors.
